From November 10 to 14, 2025, Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology (HUHST) successfully hosted its first “International Academic Exchange Week”. Jointly organized by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, the School of Materials and Environmental Engineering, the School of Music and Dance, and the Human Resources Office, the event brought together experts and scholars from China and abroad to engage in face-to-face exchanges with faculty and students from across the university, serving as a bridge for in-depth dialogue in culture, science, and technology between Chinese and international academic communities. Mr. Chen Yong, a member of the CPC HUHST Committee and Vice President of HUHST, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an opening address.
During the event, four keynote speakers delivered a series of interdisciplinary academic talks. Prof. Ihor, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, explored the functional roles of nutrients and future prospects in this field in depth. International expert Dr Kashif shared his experience in writing high-impact papers for international journals. Dr Adam Biggs from Bath Spa University in the United Kingdom gave a captivating presentation entitled “Music Without Borders: Vocal Jazz, Cross-cultural Dialogue and Artistic Fusion”. As a representative of HUHST’s university-sponsored training delegation to Poland, Dr Qin Fei shared the group’s training experiences and key takeaways. Spanning fields from the natural sciences to the humanities and the arts, the lecture series was both wide-ranging and in-depth. The discussion session was lively, and faculty and students generally agreed that such an event allowed them to experience global academic perspectives “right at their doorstep” and broadened their global horizons.
The The International Academic Exchange Week has successfully provided a high-level platform for academic exchange. It has not only helped faculty and students keep abreast of cutting-edge developments and broaden their academic horizons, but has also promoted in-depth interdisciplinary and cross-cultural dialogue, providing fresh impetus for the continued enhancement of HUHST’s research capacity and academic standing.
